What Is Clenbuterol?


Clenbuterol (often referred to simply as "Clen") is not a steroid, but a Beta 2 Sympathomitetic and central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. It is a specific agonist, stimulating the adrenergic beta 2 receptors. It is used in certain countries in a medical sense as a bronchodilator in the treatment of asthma, though not in the UK and USA, mainly due to its long half life.
Athletes and bodybuilders use the drug due to its thermogenic and anti-catabolic effects. This is down to its ability to slightly increase the body's core temperature, thereby raising calorie (energy) expenditure. It is thought that a 1ºF increase yields around a 5% increase in maintenance calories burned. Studies on livestock suggest that clenbuterol also has anabolic properties. However, this seems not to be the case in humans, thought to be due to the fact that humans lack the abundance of beta 3 receptors which increase insulin production and sensitivity.

 

Clenbuterol Uses


Clenbuterol is most commonly utilized in cutting, pre-contest, and fat loss cycles. It is very rarely utilized during the off-season or during bulking phases. Some small fraction of Clenbuterol users might elect to use it during bulking phases in a (mostly vain) attempt to stave off fat gain during a bulking period where caloric consumption is much higher than usual, and normally above basal metabolic levels. The truth of the matter here is that those who elect to do this are essentially wasting time and money, as the mechanics of Clenbuterol do not even provide for this effect. As previously explained, Clen is responsible for binding to receptors on fat cells and initiating lipolysis, which is the process of the release of triglycerides stored in fat cells into the blood stream as free fatty acids. These free fatty acids then circulate around the bloodstream throughout the body, and they must undergo the second stage of fat loss: fatty acid oxidation. This means the fatty acids must be shuttled into cells and into the mitochondria to be "burned" off, which cannot occur in any significant amount if caloric consumption is too high.

 

Is Clenbuterol Safe For Human?


The simple answer is YES. If taken according to instruction, there is no danger it poses to the body. The safety of the drug will likely depend on how disciplined the user is when it comes to following instructions on how to use it. There are however some side effects noted which can vary from mild to sometimes severe. These side effects should diminish when the use is stopped. For cases where there are some side effects even after stopping the use, it is important to seek medical attention.
